Student Snapshot: Federalist Society President Zoey Kotzambasis

University of Arizona Law 3L and UA Federalist Society President Zoey Kotzambasis had a clear mission for her summer: “advocating for more liberty and less government.”

For the second year in a row, Kotzambasis clerked at the Goldwater Institute, the Phoenix-based libertarian think tank.

At Goldwater, Kotzambasis helped draft model legislation and contributed to a number of cases, including researching constitutional and procedural issues related to the Indian Child Welfare Act for the case, Gila River Indian Community v. Department of Child Safety, which eventually went to the Arizona Supreme Court.

She also attended the Federalist Society Student Leadership Conference in Washington D.C., which she says helped her prepare to lead the UA chapter this year.  

“The most valuable thing I learned about running a successful Federalist Society chapter is how to enable our chapter's members to utilize the invaluable network of lawyers, judges, and professors for future employment and scholarship opportunities,” said Kotzambasis.
