Employee Antigen Testing; COVID Watch Download; Welcome Back Kit

Dear Colleagues, 

It’s been a busy week, with classes started, and as we get closer to welcoming more people back on campus. 

This week’s College of Law COVID-19 update includes information on faculty and staff antigen testing, the university’s new exposure tracking app, and links to important information for instructors, employees and supervisors. 

We also copy the message to students, below.  While it shares a lot of the same information they are not identical, and we think it is helpful each week for you to see what students are getting (and, we hope, reading!).

Last week the university announced a new way to join the fight against COVID and protect yourself and others: an exposure notification app called COVID Watch Arizona.  

The private, secure COVID Watch Arizona app runs in the background of your phone and uses Bluetooth signals to track when app users come in contact with each other.  It does not collect personal or location information.  If an app user tests positive for COVID, they can choose to anonymously alert others in the app.  If you’ve been in contact with another app user who reports a positive test, you will receive a private alert and be encouraged to get tested. 

President Robbins describes COVID Watch Arizona as a “game changer” in the university’s ability to perform effective contact tracing and keep campus healthy.

The more of us who download and use the app, the more effective it will be in protecting our community.  Learn more about the COVID Watch Arizona app, or download it now from Google Play or the App Store.

Employee Antigen Testing Now Available

Beginning today, Aug. 24 free antigen testing is available for employees by appointment at the McKale Center and the NorthRec Center. 

An antigen test is a diagnostic test designed for rapid detection of the virus that causes COVID-19.  Results are typically available within one hour.  Please get a test before returning to campus.  

I signed up, and am getting a test tomorrow.  The sign-up is fast, and the NorthRec Center is yards away from the law school.

Welcome Back Kits

The College of Law is providing every student, staff and faculty member (including all professors of practice and DCCs) with a Welcome Back Kit that includes an Arizona Law mask, a touch tool and disinfectant bottle. 

No-contact, curbside pickup is available to faculty and staff in the College of Law parking lot, 7-11 a.m. on Sept. 1-2 and Sept. 8-9. Contact Bernadette Wilkinson if you want a kit but need to make alternate arrangements for pick up.

If you are returning to campus, first please get an antigen test, which is a diagnostic test designed for rapid detection of the virus that causes COVID-19. I have scheduled my test -- it is easy. 

The university has free antigen testing for students, with results available within one hour. If you have been living out of town, please get tested before returning to Tucson.

Welcome Back Kits

The College of Law is providing every student with a free Welcome Back Kit that includes an Arizona Law mask, a touch tool, and a disinfectant bottle.
