Mail Procedures - Fall 2020
Dear Colleagues,
In light of COVID-related reduced staffing levels in the Law Library and reduced business at the College of Law, we have made some changes to the mail procedures for Fall 2020. Many thanks to our colleagues around the College for their input in developing a safe and secure strategy for mail.
For the health and safety of our staff, and in accordance with University and College of Law policy, please do not have personal mail or packages sent to the College of Law.
Incoming Mail Schedule
During the fall semester, the law library will be collecting mail on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the UA Mail Hub. When mail is brought back to the College of Law, it will be deposited in a locked quarantine room in the Law Library where it will remain for up to 4 work days. After quarantine, the mail will be preliminarily sorted and delivered to the second floor mailroom where our faculty services team will sort into faculty and staff mailboxes.
Mailboxes
All College of Law mailboxes, except for library staff, are now located in the second floor mailroom. This includes any mailboxes that were formerly located in the law library’s Technical Services area.
Outgoing Mail
Since the university will not be dropping mail at the College of Law, they will not pick up outgoing mail either. Therefore, there will be no outgoing mail service during the fall semester. Please take your outgoing mail to the post office or drop in a mailbox around campus.
Loading Dock
Since the Law Library will not be fully staffed and, therefore, unable to accept UPS and FedEx deliveries at the loading dock, packages should be addressed to the College of Law, [name of department], 3740 E. 34th St., Tucson, AZ 85713 so that they are delivered to the central UA Mail Hub.
When library staff pick up the mail on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they will collect any packages as well. Upon receipt, packages will be taken to the locked quarantine room in accordance with mail procedures.
Since the Law Library will not be available to accept packages daily, please make your own arrangements for time-sensitive deliveries accordingly.
Loading Dock Door
The loading dock door is no longer Catcard accessible to faculty and staff in order to reduce foot traffic through the library staff areas.
Outgoing Packages
There are no longer routine UPS or FedEx pickups daily. When you have an outgoing package, please call UPS or FedEx to schedule a pick up; or drop off the package at a designated location on or off campus.
Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
