Ninth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals to Visit, Hold Court Session at University of Arizona Law
As part of its ongoing public education effort, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit will visit the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law on Feb. 13.
This court visit is hosted by the College of Law's William H. Rehnquist Center and will include oral arguments, open to the public.
When: Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Where: University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, 1201 E. Speedway Blvd.
Who may attend: Seating is limited and available to those who have registered prior to the event.
Oral Arguments
Those signing up to attend court in person will hear arguments in both cases; unlike our other court visits, there will be no transition between matters. Full case materials can be found here.
Capacity in the courtroom is limited to 180; students will be given priority for seating in the courtroom, livestreaming will be offered to those registering after capacity is reached.
Case 1: USA v. Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes
Appeal from conviction and sentence for first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, assault on a federal officer, and use of and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence.
Case 2: USA v. Steven Martis
Appeal from conviction for transmitting a threat to kill Nancy Pelosi.
Check in for the arguments will begin at 8:45 a.m. Photo ID required for entry. No backpacks, purses, or electronic equipment permitted in the courtroom. We cannot offer secure storage for your belongings, so please plan ahead. No food or drink allowed. Professional dress strongly encouraged.
