Chantal Johnson
Before joining the University of Arizona as the Assistant Director, now Director, of the Career Development Office, Chantal worked several years at Brooklyn Legal Services, first as a staff attorney and then as a Deputy Director in the Housing Unit, where she practiced eviction defense. She held these positions during the implementation of New York City's "universal access to counsel" for low-income tenants facing eviction, the first legislation of its kind in the U.S. Chantal started her legal career at the Bronx Defenders, providing holistic civil legal advocacy for justice-involved clients. She received her J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2014. While at Stanford, Chantal was a student attorney with the Community Law Clinic and a volunteer instructor with the Prison University Project. Before law school, Chantal worked at Breaking Ground, a supportive housing non-profit in New York, and received a Master's degree in English and American Literature from NYU.
