Jennifer Sullivan

Jennifer Sullivan is a practicing attorney with extensive experience across various fields of law, including residential real estate, property tax appeals, estate planning, medical malpractice, personal injury, and criminal prosecution and defense. Admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2014, Ms. Sullivan has built a distinguished career marked by both private practice and public service.
In her general practice, Sullivan provides expert legal counsel in multiple practice areas. Before this role, she was an Assistant State's Attorney at the Cook County State's Attorney Office, prosecuting domestic violence cases and other criminal offenses. Her tenure included managing extensive case dockets, conducting over a hundred bench trials and several jury trials, and honing her litigation skills.
Alongside her legal practice, Jennifer has devoted a significant portion of her career to supporting the veteran community. Between 2011 and 2022, she made substantial contributions to the Veterans Legal Support Center and Clinic in Chicago, serving in many roles, including Staff Attorney and Publishing Supervisor. With over a decade of veterans' advocacy, Sullivan dedicated herself to assisting veterans with their VA benefit appeals, discharge upgrades, and participation in diversion treatment courts.
Jennifer's scholastic contributions are notable, having served as a research assistant for multiple professors, focusing on labor and employment arbitration, torts, and professional responsibility. An active participant in legal and academic communities, Sullivan has delivered presentations and published articles on veterans' legal issues as well as human rights and the reconciliation process in Northern Ireland. Her commitment to education is further demonstrated by her leadership on the Friends of History of UIUC Alumni Board and her numerous teaching roles throughout her career.
Jennifer earned her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction in History and Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. She also serves as a pro bono attorney for the Wills for Heroes Foundation, which provides essential legal documents to first responders and their families.
